Being Adventurous

Adventure is life. The daily humdrums of life, the routine, work environment, the pollution associated with life in metros can take a heavy toll, not only on your body but also your soul.

One usually tries to overcome these stresses of modern living by letting the hair down. This could be in the form of weekend parties with friends or a short and HECTIC tour . The destinations chosen is invariably one frequented by thousands if not millions and these hordes make these so called tourist destinations unsuitable to provide any mental, physical relief to the poor souls.

Adventure is different! Try and go for a trek in the Himalayas. It would be rejuvenating and refreshing to such a degree that you would return to your routine city life totally charged up. As the the charge starts to drain out (in 6 months to about 10 months it is time to plan for the next trip. From my personal experience I can say that nothing can beat the experience of having a holiday in mountains. By mountains I am not referring to places like Simla, Darjeeling, Nainital etc. A trek in high mountains, where your holiday starts at a place where there are no roads ahead.

The best part is that you would return a few pounds lighter and a lot more fit and energetic person. The quiet of the mountains, except for the soothing sounds of the birds and streams, would rejuvenate you.

Some of the routes that I would suggest are Roopkund and Milam Glacier in Utranchal and Pin Parvati Pass in Himachal. In fact there are a plenty of them to choose from.

If you can only go out during winters try a Skiing holiday at Auli (Utrancal).
